Traffic police harassment makes people more irritate. That too when VIP visit, in the name of bundobust, police cross their limits. They take more advantage on people and treat them like a shit.

Today (13-Aug-09), Karnataka CM visits Chennai for statue opening ceremony and when I cross Meenambakkam road (Gate 6) at 19:10, the TC on duty was behaving rude with people. This made pedestrian more uncomfortable and he used bad words on them and nearly he acted as rowdy. Are they having these much rights on public? Dont we deserve atleast a basic respect from Police? - This should be noticed by higher officials and these kind of Policemen have to be enquired. When the statement "Police is your friend!!" becomes true ???

An amazing festival at Chennai and I never missed this event in the past 5 years. It opens on every year 2nd week of January and will be available for 10 days. Here I must say about “Permanent Book Fair” at Kannimara library premises. In these book fairs, you can avail 10% discount on each book. Apart from flat discount, some publishers offer up to 50% discount. Huge varieties of books, magazines (with subscriptions), and CDs & DVDs on education, games, general knowledge, devotional, etc…..

Reading books is a good habit but visiting the book fair is very equal to read a book. Not only books, you are surprised with many VIPs in and there. You can have a chance to meet many writers and share your thoughts. While I roam, I was able to see Mr. Sivakumar (actor) and his speech. He spoke about book reading, quite impressive. And also, I heard in the announcement that Mr. M.S. Udhayamurthi (a writer) who wrote the book “Ennanggal” has visited the fair. Unfortunately I didn’t get any chance to see him.

The most interesting part of the event is the speeches by many VIP’s on different topics. On 11th Jan (Sunday evening) – Mr. Nellai Kannan (famous Vijay TV program “Tamil Pechu Engal Moochi” judge) has spoken for 2 and half hours on the topic “Tamizhal Vaazhvom”. No chairs to sit, pain in the legs after roamed nearly 4 hours but still can’t move from his speech. It’s really need massive practice and knowledge to speak for more than 2 hours continuously with lot of jokes, poems and current affairs and importantly not out of given track.

The arrangements are incredible, thanks to BAPSI and Mr. Gandhi Kannadhasan (Head of Committee). The food and beverages are yummy and refill our energy to enjoy the festival. You could see the lighting arrangement, it’s really beautiful. Public awareness programs like documentary movies on freedom fighters, national interest, etc. A customized bus (laboratory) is reputed for blood donors.

Sivaji - The Boss! - Release & Review

The hype and the great expectations have come to end. So many punch lines and story lines has rumored around us before release. June 15th put a full stop for this all and we can call it as “Sivaji Festival”, my goodness how much happiness among the Rajini fans. The major news channel conducted many poll for Sivaji and compared with Big-B. It’s really amazing, huge difference between fan clubs, the remuneration and many. When our superstar spoke to CNN-IBN he said, “I don’t think we should be compared. He is an emperor and I am only probably a king. He is my inspiration and a role model for me. How can you compare Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth?” the Tamil superstar asked humbly.

The actual story is a matter of creating a new society with free education and health by acquiring “Black Money” from Dons and huge B’s. I describe this movie as “Shankar paathi, Rajini paathi kalanthu seithe kalavai S-I-V-A-J-I”. First half of the movie filled with his styles, romance and comedy. After interval, Singapaathai, (The lion’s way) lot of actions, usually Shankar’s screenplay makes us to sit in edge of seat, yes! Sivaji actions are making us to gnawing our teeth. The way of changing black money to white is really superb and can acceptable legally too.

Post production eats more time, excellent color and graphics work but some area leaks. Heck! Our superstar movie is invincible and these minor leaks cannot even touch the border of the frame. Ticket rate was playing skate in Himalayas for first three days. Rs.1000 for each ticket in Albert theatre (famous for Rajini releases) for first day and second day costs around Rs.500, finally it comes down to Rs.300 on Sunday and it could not be predicted in this weekdays. But the peoples who have involved in black ticket market will have their real “Deepavali Festival” for this Rajini release. The first day celebration was real rocking, “Paal Abishegam”, “Soora Thenggai”, “5000 Wala Sara vedi” total road was blocked. Ultimately Sivaji release created the huge expectations among not only Rajini’s fans and I started with my view here. Lets see how this come up!!

Karuppasamy Kuthagaithaarar

Karuppasamy Kuthagaithaarar - On 6th Jun 07, we three (Me, Arvind and Thangadurai) went to this movie. Its really a wonderful bore movie, in local language we can say, 'mokka padam' ;-). We had a cone-ice each (waste in taste). We seated @ Devi cinema complex, the seats damaged heavily. I really do not understand how these seats will tolerate the movie Sivaji, heck! highly expected movie gonna be release in this (outer glow - inner damage) theater too.

Anyway, we enjoyed with comments as usual and the worth time was 'Sivaji Trailer', 2 times. Spending time with friends in the cool evening is really a wonderful moments in our life. We walked 10 minutes to the theatre from my house located near by. We got amazed nearly quarter of the theatre have filled but definitely I know they were all felt like boozed like me while leave.

My sincere suggestion to you from this experience is "Select the movie and go..." ;-)

This movie creates hype among the people and even in cinema industry. I'm exciting when I see this hoarding in middle side of Gemini Flyover, I usually ride by this road and I seen all ads here which realted to products but always 'The Boss' has a special place..!.

Arrangements:

This event organized by Arvind (my colleague), he is an interesting character, real funny guy!! ;-). I proudly took part in some effort for the event. We started with poster designing and did 3 posters, one with colleague’s photos, others with quotes and fun day cartoons, I put some of posters here. It was a really wonderful experience to work for this colorful day, I was feeling like that I work for my family marriage. We created a plan that how to make this eventful day with innovative outputs. Finally, we added some with what we have done on last Fun day held on 7th Oct 2006.

T-shirt: Hero of the day!. We have choosed red this time, “MEN IN RED” ;-) Hey, this is not uniform but reveals our unity!! Red is a high contrast color with high wave length and its look great too. A smiley printed in black @ pocket side. Actually we ordered Chinese collor with no buttons heck! they did opposite, but this looks great than expected.

Gift Items: Organizer take cares of this section fully. This time he chosen “Feng Shui”, it brings you luck when you hang it in your home. In addition, 'Mobile Stand' too (good looking). This Chinese make is something new for gift, obviously we all attracted only by new things in our life.

Decoration: Color papers turn our mind to real party mood!! Really nice.. good work people!!, they spent more than a day time to make up the office to party hall. My hearty appreciation to those who involved in this gorgeous makeup. We bulbed more idea's while doing interior decoration here.. For sure, no one will mark any complaints. I say, this is a right place or situation to learn and enrich your views. Balloons are important character in the parties!!

Opening drinks and Lunch: It’s really fantastic “Rose Milk” we had to chill out our heat in the sunny day. We had an excellent and favorite lunch "Briyani" who had arranged by Yuvaraj. The sweet fun day cake seems like birthday party! yes, its a birthday for our steps to heaven.. After exhausting with many events in the forenoon, we burned many briyani boxes which was packed tightly with many pieces. I still searching words to express the taste...! We added with reddish tasty Chicken 65. I was end up with full of stomach, so I thought for dance to digest.

Last but not least: ‘SPEAKERS’ – Only sound make our legs move faster, yes, 'DANCE' (I donna dance) but I danced up to my energy got exhausted. Thangadurai has arranged for 2 large speakers - Sony, really cool.. and I got my friend’s lappy to amplify with rocking songs. I prepared a set of songs to spin all legs. The heart breaking woofer sound gave real effect of dance stage.

Events:

Funday started with Arvind's speech about Fun day (why it’s needed and what gonna do..) After cut the cake, we started with presenting ‘Performance Awards’ for monthly performers. Motivation is always marking a place in boosting the employers productivity. I feel here, a corporate should conduct these kind of programmes at least once in 6 months. It definitely increase the employee's inter-relationship or at least this makes to know everyone's name and face to recognize while we walk through the way..

Quiz programme: Five teams and four in each team, it was really brainstorming. It helped me to judge my G.K and obviously its added fun too. I used to escape when Quiz announced in my school days, but I feel to take part here because it added more fun. Here I realise anything can approached with fun and care, it will definitely reach the target. This Quiz has got more tough questions but it dig our brains.

Dum Charades: FUN! FUN! FUN!!, its full of fun, all performed like actors there. Really I had seen my full involvement in what I was doing at that moment. It’s also some kind of meditation, I acted and tried to expressed what I got to reveal to my team. This was filled with 3 rounds of English and Tamil movies each. Everyone has come up with many ideas instantly while seen movie name from a shuffled piece of folded papers. The time given was one minute and we should perform with our full potential within time bound. I understood, playing also a practice of self-realisation. ..... ....

Dance for digest: A small dance performance by all of us who had heavy lunch like me ;-) for dancers favorite song (Pudupettai – Variya…) We did not consider steps in dance but involved in fun only fun! I could not move my wings faster after had Briyani. I can say, I just jumped and moved, heck!! people accepted that was a dance!!! hahaha... friendly...!

Tambola: Its really a family entertainment game, full of fun and pulling concentration towards to strike out the numbers. We should be more attentive in this game else we lose. We had two rounds, started with ticket rate Rs.10 each and second round got down to Rs.5/- each. I marked my mind at that moment to make my family to play this. I strongly believe, 'we grow when we share'. We can play this for no money but all our goal is to come up first.

Passing object: I really donna what the exact name of this game so I described as what we did. We used this game to kidding others, filled with real fun, I performed sexy dance on the table when I got an object in my hand. Many did cool comedy stuff. Arvind sat with lappy and stop the music while passing an object in that round table. We passed that object very fast, it was a real right time to make kidding others with only full of FUN! ;-)

Dance: Exhausted ourselves!! We all danced up to our energy got lost!! – All rocking songs with glass breaking sound! No one is a dancer, but all performed well.. When we dance with our full energy, our mind remains calm and don’t think anything other than what we are doing. We call this also as meditation.

Fun Day Conclusion: 'Fun Day' – We all had meditation in the form of many fun! I wish this eventful day will be happen at least in every 6 months in a corporate sector to reduce our stress to some extent. We also went to ‘Mayajaal On Shore Resort’ located in ECR road, back to theaters (outing from office) and we all enjoyed a lot there!!

I have been looking this 'shop' (actually...) from the time of started. These are pulling eyes of walkers in Riche street (conventionally called, Radio Market/Electronic Market) but actually, it is 'Narasingapuram Street'. Hmm, cost is not crossing more than 3 digits but varities are many... Not only fancy items its mixed with electronics goods also, like pen light. If you are suppose to see these, definitely it takes minimum 3 minutes to watch out. Finally, it seems Riche street is a place for small business too.. :-)

I bought an adapter which helps to record conversation over landline telephone. It is available in Riche Street - Omega Electronics - Rs.120/-. I had an idea to do this when I seen a post in http://www.kiruba.com/ blog. I'm really interested in doing such electronics funda.. Now I installed @ my home.. yup!! its working fine... :-) The first call I made to my mobile and recorded a conversation with my mom in next room, hehehehe... cool!! Its many more techniques out there to do fun @ PC. Lets find out.......

New LCD Monitor

My new monitor decorates my desktop. I would like to make my computer room to a well-equipped lab, its my dream too.. :-), yup finally DVI-D Cable installed @ Rs. 450/-. In-built speakers are not up to the mark, but its alright. Its really a cool experience to eyes and now my time towards watching movie has increased comparatively with my old monitor. Technology advancement gives new kind of perception when we implement at our circle.

My long days dream has come true on 24th Mar 2007. I bought a LCD monitor, 19" Widescreen (ViewSonic) along with DVI-D (Digital Visual Interface - Digital). It looks gigantic in my desktop and make me comfortable to work with multiple applications. DVI-D cable is not included in the pack, need to spend another Rs.450 for DVI-D to DVI-D 18+1 cable. When we dream about something intensively, its come true. In my case, its happend...! :-)

Chandramugi, the movie released on 14th April 2005, sensational hit by our super star Rajinikanth crossing 680 days in Shanthi theatre, Mount road, Chennai. Now it’s playing only one show (Noon). Ticket cost, Rs.10, 40, and 50. Now the question strikes, how many seats filling up in a show? Obviously less, but in weekends we may see thick heads.

Advertising banners seems faded but it is huge and placed in main center of the theatre premises. The movie still projecting in screen while many movies put-off within short period. How it seems? Because of craze in Rajini’s movie or it produced by Sivaji productions (owing Shanthi theatre). Moreover, we are eagerly expecting the next Rajini movie “Sivaji”. I went to my friend's Grahapravesam function located at Baraniputhu Post, Ayyapanthangal, next to Porur around 35kms from Chennai (one hour bike ride). It shows people interest in owning house that makes to go outside the city even they do take all possibilities of inconvenient to travel around. Even we call this out of Chennai, the land value is around Rs.1400/Sq.feet (built house), Rs.17.5 Lakhs in total. Government Housing board has allowed to build Ground+1 only.

No railway station near by and need to walk 2km from Ayyapanthangal bus terminus to reach the house. This is a thin populated area and a coffee company(Fresh Era) located near by. I heard there is no theft news still, guess because of thin populated. Two wheeler is the best transport here and a petrol bunk, puncher shop located in enterance of the area. Here we have good ground water (not salty) within the range of 15 to 30 feets. Porur lake located very near and transportation is real tough in rainy seasons. On top of that the good news is "THAR" road under processing, will see the real result after the rain.

We can enjoy the no sound enviornment and after 7pm area calm down. Ultimately, this investment make meaningful in future. Some of photographs here..

Lakhs of Small Shivalingas spread over an area of 15 acres Land

Someshwara is the presiding deity in the temple of same name. The temple is situated in the heart of Kolar. Lord shiva is worshipped as someshwara. The temple was built by the Chola kings who ruled the region in about 11th century. The cholas were eventually driven out by the Kannada-speaking Chalukyas, but the temples which they built still remain a testimony to the magnificent architecture of the Cholas. The someshawara temple is built in the typical Chola style of temple building with a huge Gopuram at the entrance of the temple.

The Cholas took over this region around 1000 CE, and later on the Hoysalas and the Vijayanagara rulers ruled.

It was the battlefield for the warring kingdoms of Chalukyas in the north and Cholas to the south. The brave heart "T.R" (brand for dialogues) has released his own movie "Veerasamy" released over tamilnadu from 1st Feb 07.

The movie for "Galatta" for this month. Actual script fully based on actions, sentiments. I guess theatres sprayed laughing gas over A/C. When T.R appears in screen and doing actions, sentiments whatever the scenes.. peoples doing only laughing... ;)

You can hear, "samy... veerasamy...." (background humming) n number of times. He put cache sentence for his movie, "The Man in Action" but its full of comedy, only because of the man who in action (T.R)!!

Anyway, its full of comedy in the name of action.. you can enjoy with friends and family...!

A great note for all to read it will take just 37 seconds to read this and change your thinking. Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.

Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the PRESENT"

Thennaangur - Temple View - Architectural Splendor

This Thennaangur temple is an architectural splendor. The 120 feet tall Rajagopuram is built in the South Indian style and the sparkling golden kalasam itself is ten feet high. The 'vimana' above the sanctum sanctorum is designed like that of the Jagannath Temple at Puri in Orissa. The deities have been sculpted in a technique called sila which had its origin in Maharashtra. This temple also houses a few large pillared halls or mantaps. In one of these halls we can find fibreglass paintings of Lord Krishna and also some intricate carvings in fibreglass which cannot be found anywhere in India.

How To Prevent Windows XP Users From Writing To USB Drives

USB drives are extremely handy tools, but in some instances it might not be a good idea to allow users to write onto these devices from their PCs. This is especially true when working with highly confidential data or intellectual property at work. Users of Windows XP with service pack 2 installed can disable writing to USB devices.

To do this:

Open the Registry Editor click on the Start button on your taskbar, then click on Run and type "regedit" and click on OK to start the regedit utility. Expand

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control.

From there right click and create a new key and name it "StorageDevicePolicies". In the window on the right then create a new DWORD value and label it WriteProtect, give it a value of "1" and users can no longer write to USB drives. To re-enable this option change the value to 0 and users are again allowed to write.

The modifications you made will be in effect after you reboot your PC.

GOAL SETTING:

To begin with, you may list the past five years and note down your significant achievements in education during each of these years, and check whether you could not have achieved more had you made a pointed effort with specific goals in view. You may then proceed to set goals for the future.

Do not confine yourself to learning in school or college.

Always set each goal precisely with specifics such as quantum and deadline (date and time before which it should be achieved). Fixing of a quantum would permit achievement to be measured. Example: Do not just say learn the capitals of various countries. Instead, define your goal as learning before 8 a.m. on the first of July 2006 the names of the capitals of 100 important countries of the world.

Decide small goals that can be achieved in a reasonable time. You can proceed step by step to attain a big long-term goal.

Set goals taking into account the possibility of conditions beyond your control. Never be too ambitious. Others may advise you to set impossible goals, but be realistic and pragmatic in your decision. If your goals are too difficult to be achieved, you may get disillusioned later. That may prompt you to abandon the healthy practice of goal setting.

Never make your goals too low or silly. Even if you achieve them, it would give you no sense of fulfilment. Nor would it help you in your progress. It is fear of failure that may induce you to set very low goals. Keep your self-confidence high and set useful goals that may be slightly above your current reach.

Prioritise the goals when you have multiple goals before you. Fix the order of priorities precisely.

Make each goal in the form of a positive statement. For example, say `Master the use of correct language' and not `Do not continue to make errors in language.'

Write out clearly each goal. This will render clarity to the goals. Any vagueness in the statement of goals will confuse you while determining the course of action. Moreover, you will not forget the goals if you put them in black and white. You should have control over the goals.

While setting goals never say that you will `try' to do something. It should be that you `will do' it. When you insert the word try, you start with a fear that you might fail in achieving the goal.

Think about the rewards you will enjoy when you achieve a goal. Such a dream will propel you to proceed with enthusiasm. A reward need not at all be in terms of specific amounts of money or quantities of materials. A good example of the rewards that we talk about is the reward of a fine career if you earn a university degree, or the accolades you win when you become a master musician.

Be persistent in goal striving. An initial surge in action followed by a lull or total lethargy is of no use. An expert once said of SMART goals. What he meant was that goals have to be `specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and tangible' with a target date. Check and confirm that each of your goals satisfies the SMART formula.

Modifying goals:

When we have achieved some of our goals, we learn certain lessons in goal setting. It is likely that we made some errors initially in gauging the quantum or time for achieving certain goals.

An appreciation of these errors will tell us how we should modify our style of goal setting, so that it becomes more sensible and realistic. Perhaps, we should redesign our approach, change the target definitions and alter the time estimates. Our achievements will certainly offer a sense of fulfilment that persuades us to continue our endeavour with renewed vigour. We should not feel shy in enjoying our achievements. "Enjoy each milestone as you travel the road to success."

What will be the pattern of change we have to make? If some of the goals were achieved too easily, we should set our goals a bit harder. If they were achieved too quickly, we may alter the timeframe for achievement.

Sometimes, it may so happen that we failed in achieving the goal we had set, because of our inherent inefficiency or inability. If that is the situation, we have to set fresh goals for the correction of such shortcomings.

As great motivational experts say, there are no mistakes but only opportunities. They mean that we should convert errors into occasions for learning from our errors. We should have the grace to accept the feedback with an open mind, and accept our deficiencies, if any. Our future schedules will naturally take into account this aspect as well.

You must have heard about Kaizen. It is a Japanese word that means continuous improvement. It represents a technique that is applied in industry and management. We can adopt the Kaizen philosophy in our goal striving.

We move from one step to another gaining something during each such transition. New goals emerge and we plan to reach them in stages and work for it with dedication.

Kaizen involves certain interesting features: elimination of waste and inefficiency, tidiness, orderliness, cleanliness, standardised cleanup and discipline. All these are indeed well known. But we are emphasising them here to remind ourselves of these strategies so as to make our endeavour effective.
